The Hydro-X System Features A Modular Design
Another great feature of the Hydro-X Environment Control System is that you can control and customize every last detail of the controller. The modular design means you can configure the separate components in unique ways to create the best environment for your plants because every grow is different.
You can control up to 512 different grow lights on two separate channels, and operate different systems simultaneously. Just about every lighting brand and product on the market is compatible with the Hydro-X with different adapters.

Using the LMA-14 Adapter (Adapter F) for multiple lights
The LMA-14 Adapter can be used for 24 Drivers (LEDs) or 40 Ballasts with either the HCS-1 or HCS-2 Hydro-X controllers. Both the Hydro-X Controllers have 2 line lights giving the ability to control double the amount of each type of light (48 LEDs and 80 Ballasts).
All the other controlled modules are connected to the device channel.

The TS-1 (4 Wire) & TS-2 (6 Wire) thermostat stations are designed to replace a thermostat connected to a conventional cool only HVAC unit.
ARS-1 for Mini Split System
The ARS-1 mini-split air conditioner controller is a universal controller that works with most mini-split air conditioners (and some window-type AC units too), as long as the unit came with an IR / infrared remote controller.
DST-1 for Temperature-Controlled Outlets (120 Volt)
The TrolMaster DST-1 Temperature control modules allow the user to easily connect and control standard heating or cooling devices to the Hydro-x. Any heating or cooling device that is 10-amps at 120 volts or less can be controlled by the DST-1.
DST-2 for Temperature-Controlled Outlets (240 Volt)
The TrolMaster DST-2 Temperature control modules allow the user to easily connect and control standard heating or cooling devices to the Hydro-x. Any heating or cooling device that is 10-amps at 240 volts or less can be controlled by the DST-2.

DSP-1/DSD-1
The TrolMaster DSP-1 (120 Volt) program device module (timer module) works like a multi-function timer. The DSP-1 allows the user to easily connect any device that needs to be controlled by TIME to the Hydro-x.
The Trolmaster DSD-1 Dry-contact module provides a simple and flexible solution to who want to connect & control devices to the Hydro-X using a dry-contact or relay to activate the device.

Description
The Hydro X Plus / HCS-3 system is a professional-grade single-zone environmental control system that can control your entire grow space. It has an 800x480 7” LED display monitor and can control an unlimited number of lights, 8 temperature devices, 8 humidity devices, 4 CO2 devices, and 12 programmable timer devices (up to 50 schedules can be created). With incredible flexibility and the expanded product capacity, anyone can now easily customize their own grow room control system for maximum yields. Having multiple control modules also provides the option for the user to create multiple "stages" of growth. By staggering the start times of each stage, the user can minimize the amount of time that plants spend in vegetative growth and focus on the flowering phase.

TrolMaster revolutionized environmental controller technology when it introduced the Hydro-X. The Hydro-X Pro continues the revolution with a 10’ touch-screen and a web-based software.
The Hydro-X Pro is backwards compatible with all current Hydro-X control / device modules. It also provides greater flexibility and allows any plug-in module to be addressed to be whatever the user wants. The user can also set up each plug-in module to have multiple “conditions” that will activate the module, allowing for almost unlimited control options.
The Hydro-x Pro is designed to be a single room controller for reliability and ease-of-use. The Hydro-X Pro expands the capability of the original Hydro-X by allowing up to 50 sensors and up to 50 separate control modules to be connected to a single Hydro-X Pro. Multiple sub-zones can be created within the single grow space by linking a specific sensor, to a specific control function(s).The new 4-in-1 sensor comes with a LCD screen which provide the ease of onside monitoring.
Customized programming allows almost limitless degree of control. Each of the variables (Temperature, Humidity, CO2, Light) can be controlled independently, meaning a customized ramp-up / ramp-down can be used to closely simulate natural outdoor conditions, or simply allow complete customization of the environment. The ARS-1 mini-split air conditioner controller is a unique product that solves the age-old problem of having separate day and night temperature settings on your mini-split air conditioners. The ARS-1 is a universal controller that works with most mini-split air conditioners (and some window-type AC units too), as long as the unit came with an IR / infrared remote controller. We use the remote control that came with the unit to “teach” those IR signals to the ARS-1 module. Once the ARS-1 “learns” those remote control codes, the ARS-1 will send those same signals to the indoor mini-split head unit changing the setpoint to the desired Day or Night temperature setting automatically base on the photocell sensor status.

The TrolMaster DCC-1 provides a simple solution to control a single device, with more than one condition. For example, people like to turn on their exhaust fans when either temp or humidity is too high; shut off CO2 when turn on exhaust fans. There are many other examples where two conditions can be either combined or split.
The DCC-1 is designed to be used in combination with one of TrolMaster’s plug-in style module. (DSC-1, DSH-1/2, DST-1/2 and DSP-1). Once connected to the plug-in module using the RJ12 cable built-into the DCC-1, the DCC-1 will act in concert with that plug-in module to control whatever device is connected to the plug-in module. The DCC-1 can also be set to work in two distinct ways using the “Interlock” function.INTERLOCK OFF: When the DCC-1 interlock is set to be off, EITHER condition that are associated with that pair of modules that are being used together can be activated individually for the device to be activated. (modules used in “parallel”)Examples from above for interlock OFF would be: Turn on an exhaust fan to reduce temp or humidity.Turn on an exhaust fan at night using a recycling timer OR when Humidity is too highINTERLOCK ON: When the DCC-1 Interlock is selected to be on, BOTH conditions that are associated with that pair of modules that are being used together must be activated TOGETHER in order for the device to be activated. The Trolmaster DSV-1 is a low-voltage output module that can be used on the HCS-1, HCS-2 controllers. The DSV-1 can be addressed to be used as a temperature, humidity, CO2, or timer device module.Multiple voltage outputs are selectable by the user. The DSV-1 can output either 12 or 24 VDC up to .5 amps, or 12 or 24 VAC up to 4.8VA. The 4RS-1 is a universal 4-outlet power expansion module. It can be used with any of TrolMaster’s “plug-in” style device modules to expand the number of devices that can be controlled by the Hydro-x. A single 120-240 volt “trigger” cable on the 4RS-1 connects to your device / control module. When the device module is activated by the Hydro-x, the 4RS-1 trigger cable will turn on each of the 4 receptacles on the 4RS-1 with a 3 second time delay between each outlet being activated. That minimizes high start-up (inrush current) and allows up to 4 devices to be safely controlled. The 4RS-1 must be installed with a 120/240 volt power circuit (up to 50-amps @ 240vac). Three wire terminals inside the unit accept up to #6 AWG wire making connections to the power source easy.

The Trolmaster TSH-1 Temperature / Humidity Station is a 0-10 volt analog output control station that works with the HCS-1 and HCS-2 controllers. The TSH-1 can be configured to control either a temperature or a humidity device that requires a variable 0-10 volt input signal.
The TSH-1 is capable of controlling variable speed fans, vents or any other device that accepts a 0-10 volt input. It features separate day and night “idle” speed settings built-into the TSH-1 as well as separate Day / Night setpoints accessed through the HCS controller.

he SPH-1 Splitter Hub from TrolMaster makes installation of our controllers as easy as plugging in a phone cable. The SPH-1 hub uses a single RJ12 cable input jack, and provides (8) individual RJ12 output jacks that can be connected to various TrolMaster sensors, adapters and device modules. Using the SPH-1 allows for a "clean" installation and eliminates the need for daisy-chain Y-splitters to be used to interconnect multiple modules or sensors. The SPH-1 is also a powered hub, meaning that it will boost the signals passing through the SPH-1 allowing more modules, sensors and light adapters to be connected to the TrolMaster controllers. By using the SPH-1, an almost unlimited number of LED / HID lights can be controlled using a single TrolMaster controller. The SPH-1 comes complete with the SPH-1 hub, a 16 foot RJ12 cable and the 12vdc power supply. Overview
The ECS-2 cable set is designed to connect Hydro-X to most LED drivers with bare wire +/- wiring.
For connecting to a Hydro X HCS-1 or 2. Use with FGI Uniformity Pro 640 & Uniformity Pro Flex (when not using the WiFi controller), FGI Lightpanel 500 (requires a Cat6 adapter plug).
Most LED drivers have a pair of + and - wires which control dimming functions. This adapter set provides a simple screw down wiring terminal with a 3.5mm jack connector and RJ-12 extension wiring allowing simple connection from your LED to the Hydro-X controller.
The ECS-2 comes with a 16 ft RJ12 cable, a Y-splitter and a special 4 ft RJ12 / 3.5mm jack cable. The special cable connects to your lighting fixture / LED driver using the two-screw terminal block to connect to loose wires on the LED driver. Simply connect the two wires from your LED driver to the terminal block, each of the lights being controlled are wired in a “daisy-chain” configuration back to the Hydro-X LMA adapter.

Targeting the Emerson Effect.
The Emerson Effect is the name given to the increase in the rate of photosynthesis that occurs when chloroplasts are exposed to far red energy just before the nighttime lights off cycle. This effect was first discovered by scientist Alexander Emerson in 1883, and it has since been extensively studied by plant biologists.
While the Emerson Effect is typically associated with increases in photosynthesis, it can also lead to other changes in plant physiology, such as increased cell division and growth.
One way to take advantage of the Emerson Effect is to use our supplimental far red LED grow light for 10-15 minutes after full spectrum lights are turned off. If you are looking to create the ideal environment for your plants, an LED grow light can help you to achieve the Emerson Effect.
Far Red Spectrum
Use
We recommend 2 units per 4x4 grow space for daytime enhanced PPFD delivery. Height over canopy should be the same as your full spectrum LED but it will not hurt the plants to hang beneath a 4x4 LED.
Time
General use:
Studies indicate that dosing with far red light is most effective with 4 hours on, 4 off, and 4 on. We recommend a digital wall timer, or if using TrolMaster the DSP-1 (for 110V connections) or a DSP-2 (for 240V).
Emerson Effect:
10-15 minutes after full spectrum lights are turned off.
Plant Morphology Theory
Plants use phytochrome to detect and respond to red and far-red wavelengths. Phytochromes are signaling proteins that promote photomorphogenesis in response to red light and far-red light. Using the LMA-14 Adapter (Adapter F) for multiple lights
The LMA-14 Adapter can be used for 24 Drivers (LEDs) or 40 Ballasts with either the HCS-1 or HCS-2 Hydro-X controllers. Both the Hydro-X Controllers have 2 line lights giving the ability to control double the amount of each type of light (48 LEDs and 80 Ballasts).
All the other controlled modules are connected to the device channel.

The TS-1 (4 Wire) & TS-2 (6 Wire) thermostat stations are designed to replace a thermostat connected to a conventional cool only HVAC unit.
ARS-1 for Mini Split System
The ARS-1 mini-split air conditioner controller is a universal controller that works with most mini-split air conditioners (and some window-type AC units too), as long as the unit came with an IR / infrared remote controller.
DST-1 for Temperature-Controlled Outlets (120 Volt)
The TrolMaster DST-1 Temperature control modules allow the user to easily connect and control standard heating or cooling devices to the Hydro-x. Any heating or cooling device that is 10-amps at 120 volts or less can be controlled by the DST-1.
