Nextlight LLC, the creators of Nextlight LED grow lights, appears to have ceased operations. An unresolved lawsuit between CABA Technologies and Nextlight is being played out in Ohio courtrooms while their website remains offline. With no official statement released yet on this development, questions remain as to why they discontinued without warning.
With LumiGrow's closure in 2021, coupled with a number of other smaller brands that have followed suit, it appears the LED grow light industry is ushering in an era of tumultuous times. Low cost supply from overseas and falling demand due to rising inflation paired with pre-recession fears has resulted in challenging conditions for companies who are not properly prepared in our industry.
Luxx, established in 2018 and headquartered in California, experienced a meteoric rise as one of the premier lighting brands on social media. Despite being average at best according to those professionally involved with lights, they managed to build considerable success - until it was revealed that their products were sourced cheaply from factories overseas and not carefully vetted. As such Hawthorne's acquisition never came close fruition due to oversights during the merger's due diligence phase.
Nextlight, unfortunately, appears to have suffered from dramatic pricing pressure stemming from its supply chain management. After initially deciding to manufacture their goods in the US and then transitioning production across the Pacific into China triggered claims with a key parts supplier located stateside.
With the Luxx and Nextlight departure, commercial LED buyers are left wondering who they can trust. While those who've purchased from the former have a reliable alternative in Hawthorne to turn to for warranty support, things remain uncertain for customers of the latter - an unsettling prospect indeed!
With a decade of success behind us, Forever Green Indoors is in it for the long haul. We provide ten thousand customers with high-quality LED grow lights that are built to last and backed by our commitment to excellence.
