This controller can be used with LED drivers which have the ability to dim to zero to turn your light off. It will not eliminate power to the light. It will however turn off the diodes if your driver has dim to zero capability.   Can the FGI Dimming Controller operate non-FGI LEDs? Yes, it can operate any LED that has a driver (power supply) that allows zero to ten volt dimming (0-10V). Consult the specifications of your LED light, or the specifications of the driver/power supply in the light itself. Most drivers have labels affixed to them that indicate their ability to do 0-10V dimming. How can I tell if my driver is 0-10V? 1. Look at the specifications for the model number of the driver, usually printed on a label on the driver. 2. Look for an indication on the label that the driver is 0-10V dimmable. 3. Look for a pair of wires on the driver/power supply that are NOT used to provide power to the light. Typically these are blue/black but can be a variety of colors based on the manufacturer. Can I connect the FGI Dimming Controller directly to the line voltage power on the light? No. Do not connect the Controller directly to line voltage power in your LED. It will damage the controller and void the return. Can this controller turn my LED totally off? Yes for the FGI Uniformity Pro series LEDs. No, it cannot dim the FGI Lightpanel or Lightbar products to off. For non FGI LEDs it depends on the driver/power supply. Consult the specifications for your driver. If the driver has the ability to "Dim To Off", then it is likely but not 100% that our Controller can dim your lights to off. Otherwise they will dim to 10% of the total light output only. Can I connect many lights to one controller? And if so how many? This depends on the distance you are trying to connect your lights over and the quality of the wire you use. We recommend insulated AWG 14 2 lead wire sold here on Amazon. And we also recommend you use IP68 twist connectors also sold here on Amazon to create a water proof, dust proof daisy chain. 3 way IP68 T connectors are ideal for this application. Overview  Our dedicated far red led grow lightbar provides a strong boost of 730nm PPFD as a supplemental light source in veg and flower.  Red light is easier to produce than other colors of the spectrum. Red diodes produce more PPFD per watt of input power. Higher light intensity in veg will keep plants more compact, including red energy.  Adding supplemental energy increases PAR on canopy. Using our far red bars provides a boost of energy at fewer watts and amps than additional full spectrum energy.  The FGI 730nm Lightbar is the longest dedicated far red bar on the market. The effect was early evidence that two photosystems, processing different wavelengths, cooperate in photosynthesis. Dr. Robert Emerson, who taught at the University of Illinois, discovered that light on the far end of the spectrum, infrared light, boosted photosynthesis when combined with other wavelengths. Emerson’s primary observations included: There are two chemical procedures that contribute to photosynthesis. These processes are hastened, and are more efficient, when the plant is exposed to far-red and infrared light. Overview  The FGI 730nm Lightbar is the best dedicated far red LED grow light on the market today. It's rugged all aluminum body dissipates heat well. A crystal lens covers the diodes making the waterproof. A little overspray won't hurt at all. Built for difficult indoor grow rooms, this light can be bumped around and moved easily.  Our dedicated far red led grow lightbar boosts light levels in veg and/or flower. Adding two of these bars to your 4x4 grow space will lift PFD (photon flux density) 10%. (Quick note: This 730nm energy is outside of 400-700nm PAR. A standard quantum PAR meter cannot measure this additive energy. And neither can a Lux meter. We recommend using an Apogee MQ-610 extended PAR meter for checking light levels with supplemental far red or UV spectrum). Use far red energy in veg to keep plants compact and strong. The lower rails come pre-assembled and we provide sets of clevis cotter pins and rail insertion guides.  Upper and Lower Rails - Lights Shown Not Included The lifts consist of twin upper and lower rails. The upper rail has four loops, one at each end, and allows for attachment to ceiling truss which we recommend be done with lengths of stainless steel threaded rod (not provided). The rod should be sized to allow the upper rail to be suspended at a height for the top limit of travel, or in other words the furthest you want the lights to be from the canopy. The lower rails on the lift hold the lights which have 30" of travel when fully extended. Steel aircraft cable (all parts provided) allows for a strong and safe up/down travel.  Alternatively, the lift can be suspended from the ceiling truss using chain (not provided).  Also recommended for simplifying the truss connection is lengths of Unistrut or Superstrut attached to the ceiling truss. Threaded eye bolts installed on the strut allow for adjustments after the fact.  Lift mounting width: The twin 16' rails are independent of one another. In other words, they do not need to be attached to one another. Each of the two sets of top and bottom lifting rails can be mounted at any distance. This allows the lift to be easily adapted to most brands of grow lights. The rail sets would then be mounted at the same distance that the light mounting points are from one another. This allows the lights to be balanced and properly sized to fit the lifts.  Light attachment: Our lifts were designed for FGI brand grow lights which have flip up brackets sized to fit into the lower lift rails. However in most cases any brand of light can be used with the lifts. Rope hangers or steel loop cables can be used to attach to the provided mounting guide and clevis with cotter pins. We then surround each 14" panel with 660nm red diodes to give the flower phase an extra kick.  This light is no pretender and is not imported from overseas.
