Overview  The FGI 730nm Lightbar is the best dedicated far red LED grow light on the market today. It's rugged all aluminum body dissipates heat well. A crystal lens covers the diodes making the waterproof. A little overspray won't hurt at all. Built for difficult indoor grow rooms, this light can be bumped around and moved easily.  Our dedicated far red led grow lightbar boosts light levels in veg and/or flower. Adding two of these bars to your 4x4 grow space will lift PFD (photon flux density) 10%. (Quick note: This 730nm energy is outside of 400-700nm PAR. A standard quantum PAR meter cannot measure this additive energy. And neither can a Lux meter. We recommend using an Apogee MQ-610 extended PAR meter for checking light levels with supplemental far red or UV spectrum). Use far red energy in veg to keep plants compact and strong. Recent studies at Utah State University by Dr Bruce Bugbee, have proven that additional energy, even in the red spectrum, keeps plants more compact.  Use this energy in flower and you'll see earlier trichome development.  It will fully cover a 4' wide grow tray in bloom and generally covers a 2' wide swath. We recommend a pair for each 4x4 grow space and this unit comes with hardware which allows you to position it inside the frame of most 5 and 8 bar full spectrum LEDs. If you are only after the Emerson Effect one of these bars will help your plants to sleep over a 6'x4' area.  Far Red Spectrum USE We recommend 2 units per 4x4 grow space for daytime enhanced PPFD delivery. Height over canopy should be the same as your full spectrum LED but it will not hurt the plants to hang beneath a 4x4 LED.  Description  At 30 watts of input power they sip energy too, while emitting a strong boost of red spectrum.  Each Lightbar is prewired with an 8’ cord and 110v plug and are stand alone. When simultaneously exposed to light of both wavelengths, the rate of photosynthesis is far higher than the sum of the red light and far red light photosynthesis rates. The effect was early evidence that two photosystems, processing different wavelengths, cooperate in photosynthesis. Dr. Robert Emerson, who taught at the University of Illinois, discovered that light on the far end of the spectrum, infrared light, boosted photosynthesis when combined with other wavelengths. Emerson’s primary observations included: There are two chemical procedures that contribute to photosynthesis. These processes are hastened, and are more efficient, when the plant is exposed to far-red and infrared light. Overview  Our dedicated far red led grow lightbar provides a strong boost of 730nm PPFD as a supplemental light source in veg and flower.  Red light is easier to produce than other colors of the spectrum. Red diodes produce more PPFD per watt of input power. Higher light intensity in veg will keep plants more compact, including red energy.  Adding supplemental energy increases PAR on canopy. Using our far red bars provides a boost of energy at fewer watts and amps than additional full spectrum energy.  The FGI 730nm Lightbar is the longest dedicated far red bar on the market.
